Party & Event Crew
The setup and the cleanup — handled, so you can actually host.
Talk to us about your eventSetup and cleanup are the two hardest parts of hosting. They are also the parts that quietly burn out organisers and end good events. We take them off your plate — either by coordinating the volunteers you already have, or by bringing you a crew.
We have been running event crew for about five years, for groups including EROS, HEAT, HPEP and TNG, among others. The work is unglamorous and completely essential: somebody has to open the door an hour early, make sure every bin has a bag in it, and be the last one out with the key.
Either way you get the same thing: a named list of jobs, a person attached to each one, and nobody standing around at 2am wondering who is taking the trash out.
Party prep — before doors open
- Arrive early and open the space (at least an hour ahead)
- Trash collection — small bins into the big bins, and a pass over the floor
- Trash can refresh — every bin gets a bag
- Vacuum the rugs
- Sweep the floors
- Dusting, if it needs it
- Bathroom cleanup
- Kitchen cleanup
- Trash to the dumpster if the big bins are already full
- Decorate
- Set lights
After the party — before anyone goes home
- Rid the kitchen of food and spills
- Trash collection
- Take the trash to the dumpster
- De-decorate
- Collect left-behinds into lost-and-found
- Wipe down the furniture
- Turn off the lights and A/C
- Lock up and bring the key back
Other roles we cover
- Cook food
- Host
- Catering
- Acquiring snacks
- Runner / go-fer
- Spotter — helps a rigger, typically for photo shoots
- Assistant
Prep is genuinely small once it is split up. One person can work the whole prep list in about fifty minutes; two people are done in half an hour. The trick was never effort, it was somebody knowing which jobs exist and who agreed to do them.
