About TLC
Community Builders

The people, practice, and philosophy behind the work.

We believe:

Healing needs structure. Kindness isn’t enough—real care takes trained support, planning, and skill.

You shouldn’t have to choose between community and safety.

Shame isn’t justice. Most harm is mismanaged, not resolved. We’re here to change that.

Education is harm reduction. Our rope, consent, and trauma training saves relationships before they fracture.

People deserve to be more than their worst moment. That includes those harmed and those who’ve caused harm.

What does Trauma-Informed and Restorative Justice Mean Anyway?

What do they actually mean in a community context? Not just in theory, not just in therapy rooms, but right here in our rope and kink spaces?

How to Mitigate the Risk of Being Involved in a Consent Incident

This field guide is full of risk mitigation techniques built on lessons learned from real-world failures and real-time growth.

What If We’re Doing It Wrong?

A guided walk through the messy terrain we keep finding ourselves in, where someone gets hurt, someone gets blamed, and communities get torn apart.

When Leaders Cause More Harm

Most group leaders and event organizers didn’t step into their roles thinking they would become conflict mediators or emotional triage.

The Problem with a Community Registry

Let’s talk

Let’s talk. We offer custom workshops, case support, and facilitator training.

OUR GUIDING PRINCIPLES:

Informed Consent: We prioritize the importance of informed, enthusiastic, and ongoing consent in all aspects of our activities. Consent is the foundation of trust and mutual respect within our spaces. See: Essential Aspects of Consent

Safety and Education: Recognizing the inherent risks in rope tying and bondage, we’re committed to a foundation of safety through knowledge. We don’t claim rope tying is without risks, but we’re dedicated to providing comprehensive education, resources, and mentorship to help participants understand and navigate these risks and develop their personal risk profile on a foundation of knowledge. It’s non-negotiable for us that everyone who joins our practice begins with a mandatory basics class, which we provide for free.

Respect and Empathy: We embrace diversity and promote an environment where all individuals are treated with respect and empathy. We celebrate differences and encourage a culture of acceptance, free from discrimination or prejudice. We open our spaces to all adult individuals who are willing to contribute positively and uphold the harmony of our space. Membership is a privilege sustained through respect and appropriate conduct. See: Anti-Harassment Policy

Legal and Ethical Boundaries: We uphold all legal and ethical boundaries. Our activities adhere to local laws, and we prioritize the well-being and autonomy of all participants.

Open Communication with Clear Boundaries: Effective and open communication is essential to our spaces. We encourage members/students to establish clear boundaries, ask questions, and express their needs openly while respecting others’ boundaries.

Personal Responsibility: At the core of our ethos lies a firm belief in personal responsibility and accountability. We empower individuals to make informed decisions about their engagement, emphasizing the importance of education and comprehension BEFORE participation. Each member is expected to approach activities with a clear understanding of their own boundaries and limits, and develop a personal risk profile to guide their participation in any activity.

We advocate for a culture where members proactively seek knowledge and skill, enabling them to engage with confidence and care. Taking responsibility means acknowledging the impact of one’s choices, actions, and safety — not just on oneself but on those they interact with as-well. It’s about owning the space we occupy and the experiences we create, stepping forward with both intention and consideration.

In promoting personal responsibility, we are not just advocating for individual autonomy but also for collective well-being. We encourage every student/member to embrace this principle, understanding that a community thrives when each person is mindful of their contributions and the ripples they create.

Community Service: We are dedicated to serving. We offer free mandatory introductory classes to ensure that everyone has access to fundamental knowledge about rope bondage and its associated risks. Our commitment to community service drives us to reinvest any funds generated into maintaining our space and providing essential class/event supplies.

Inclusivity and the Opportunity for Redemption: We understand that everyone has their journey, with its own set of challenges and missteps. RPM is rooted in the belief that every individual has the capacity for growth and positive change. We provide a space where past experiences are not barriers to future learning, and where each person is given the chance to evolve and contribute meaningfully.

Fostering Social Equity: Our vibe naturally embodies an ethos where fairness and a desire for understanding are woven into the fabric of our interactions. We nurture a culture that values diverse voices and experiences, ensuring that each person feels seen, heard, and empowered. In our kink-positive and sex-positive spaces, everyone has the opportunity to contribute, share, and shape the dialogue, reinforcing a collective commitment to equity and support.

Embracing Sex-Positivity: We recognize consensual sexuality as a fundamental human right and respect the diverse ways in which it is expressed. While we may not personally endorse every sexual expression, we maintain a judgment-free approach to consensual practices. Our understanding is nuanced, appreciating that personal histories and societal contexts significantly influence sexual expression.

Cultivating Consensuality: RPM is dedicated to creating an environment where every ‘No’ is respected as a crucial boundary and every ‘Yes’ is embraced as a positive affirmation. We advocate for informed and voluntary decision-making, ensuring that every choice is made with complete and clear information, free from pressure.
